Puget Sound’s marine areas have been open for a couple weeks already, and we hit Marine Area 8-2 really close to Everett today. The weather and crabbing was great!
The morning tidal exchange was pretty light this morning. We dropped 6 crab traps within a couple miles of the Everett Marina. While the traps soaked, we cruised down to Mukilteo to see if we could catch a couple squid. Squidding was fun, although we only caught a couple. It was still a super fun time while we waited. We gave it two hours before heading back to Everett to pull pots.

We ended up keeping a dozen really nice Dungeness Crab. There were very few soft shells we tossed back, and I can say that our first day of the Puget Sound winter crab season was a success!
