Winter Blackmouth fishing has been pretty decent this year, and although our openers have only been a couple 3-day periods in early January and again starting back up in late February, Puget Sound’s Marine Area 10 will now be open to salmon fishing 7 days a week until the end of March!
WDFW gave us a 3-day-per-week season for the beginning of January, and then again for a few more Thursday-Saturday openers at the end of February. It looks like there is enough of our quota left to reopen to daily fishing until March 31.
So if you enjoy fishing in all the local haunts like Jeff Head, Kingston, Shilshole Bay, West Point or plan on exploring the rest of the Marine Area 10, you have options! If you are looking for a charter, check out my friends at Messin Around Charters and Cut Plug Charter, who are fishing daily.
WDFW also announced an increased daily limit of 2 hatchery Chinook, minimum size 22″.
Check out the official WDFW News Release for the official announcement. As always, I plan on checking Emergency Rules prior to heading to the boat ramp just to make sure there aren’t any last minute changes.
Good luck out there everyone!
