The day that gets me pumped to start prepping the boat for the season is always the day that the Puget Sound Spot Shrimp season is announced. We have all eagerly awaited the announcement, and this year we get back to soaking prawn traps on May 19th.
I consider the Spot Shrimp opener one of those big days that jump starts our local Seattle area saltwater fishing season. Areas of the Central Puget Sound will see a one day opener, and with any luck we may get a second day in some areas. Hood Canal, San Juan Islands and the Strait of Juan de Fuca will have multiple days where we can go shrimping. It’s time to get all the equipment out of the garage and in prime working order!

Here are a few other pages on Riptidefish that you may find helpful. I hope you get out there this season and wish everyone a productive time on the water!
