Best Spots to Fish on the Humptulips River

The Humptulips River is a great place to explore from a drift boat or from the bank. The river has both paved boat ramps and crude gravel areas to launch/retrieve a drift boat.

For the bank-bound angler, there are a number of great fishing spots. Here are a few of my favorites…

Hansen’s Launch

Hansen Road is off Highway 101 just south of the Humptulips River 101 Bridge. The road ends at a great bank fishing spot. Park at the boat ramp parking lot, or drive onto the gravel bar upstream from the launch. There is a long, deep, slow run that holds salmon and steelhead. Many of the drift boat guys launch on the gravel bar, so it isn’t the most isolated place but a popular spot to fish.
